CITY MANAGER The City of Summerville is accepting applications for the position of CITY MANAGER. The City Manager serves as liaison between the Mayor and City Council and City employees. The City Manager oversees the day to day operations of the City of Summerville and supervises all City departments, by assisting department heads and supervisors. In addition, the position requires oversight of the City’s utility system, water and wastewater plants, municipal, financial and budgetary matters; enforcement of all policies, programs, laws and ordinances; participation in the development of the City’s goals and future planning; and provides advice to the Mayor and City Council on all significant matters affecting the City and its operations. REQUIREMENTS Applicant must possess a current valid Georgia driver’s license and be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen test and agree to a back ground check. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years experience in municipal management and administration or a related field; must possess strong human resources, communications, financial and management skills; and display a common-sense approach to government. A bachelor’s degree in public administration, business management or a related field is preferred. The ideal applicant will have a minimum capability of using Microsoft Windows applications, including Excel, Word and e-mail. Salary is dependant on qualifications and includes an excellent benefit package.
